POSITION OBJECTIVE(S):

The General Manager plans, organizes, directs, controls, and coordinates the operation, and its major departments and directs the facilities, and management team.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Supervise, monitor and coordinate the work activities of the management team.

  • Responsible for the overall performance of customer service, equipment reliability, business development, purchasing, finance and property management.

  • Maintain current knowledge of interpreting and applying pertinent rules, regulations, policies and procedures set forth by Bombardier Inc., the customer or outside agencies.

  • Maintain proper records of operational and special budget.

  • Design and implement new policies and procedures.

  • Confirm the preparation of financial and administrative reports.

  • Control expenditures in accordance with budgeted amounts.

 

RELATED ACTIVITIES:

  • Participates in the performance evaluation and succession planning of personnel.

  • Supervises personnel so as to obtain maximum efficiency while applying, within the facility the company’s policies and procedures.

  • Act as liaison between site and corporation.

 

SKILL FACTORS - Education/ Experience

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written skills.

  • Must be able to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both

  • internally and externally.

  • Knowledge of budgetary requirements and long-range planning.

  • 10 years of management responsibility in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.

  • Must be able to use sound business judgement and influence people of all levels.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office package.

  • Proven leadership and successful communication skills.

  • Business travel may be required.
