Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical maintenance expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety, availability, and reliability of the Power Supply and Distribution (PS&D) System, directly contributing to the smooth operation of a 7-day rail system. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, safety, and operations departments), troubleshoot and repair high-voltage electrical systems, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

• Contributing to the safety, availability, and reliability of the Power Supply and Distribution (PS&D) system, including power substation equipment, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), cabling, OCS, “Blue Light Stations” (BLS), and Tunnel Lighting
• Accessing vehicles, tracks, spares, materials, tools, equipment, training, manuals, and procedures for PS&D maintenance
• Recommending and implementing techniques and procedures to ensure maintenance is conducted safely, reliably, and efficiently
• Diagnosing and rectifying failures and emergency incidents within established guidelines
• Supporting a 7-day rail operation by working rotating shifts in a continuous seven-day cycle, performing all technical work related to TPS maintenance
• Adhering to Custodial, Preventative, and Rehabilitation Maintenance schedules
• Inspecting, testing, and repairing internal distribution cables and electrical substation equipment
• Performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on traction power voltage, monitoring systems, charging systems, circuit breakers, and other TPS components
• Troubleshooting, analyzing, and isolating malfunctions, as well as inspecting, testing, modifying, and maintaining traction power voltage, monitoring systems, charging systems, circuit breakers, and other TPS components
• Performing complex repair troubleshooting while safely using and maintaining hand and power tools and test equipment related to work.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field
• Experience or understanding of electrical maintenance in high-voltage systems
• Knowledge of AC/DC power and control systems
• Familiarity with electrical safety regulations, including Ontario Electrical Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and related standards
• A certification such as 309A or 442A in good standing
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment
• Strong communication skills, including English reading, writing, and speaking
• Ability to use computer systems and maintenance software for documentation and diagnostics
• Organizational and planning skills to adhere to maintenance schedules and deadlines
• Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including rotating shifts and outdoor conditions.
