Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your Environment, Health & Safety expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates.
You'll lead site management in achieving EHS results, driving the implementation of EHS policies, and fostering a proactive safety culture. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as operational management and cross-functional teams), develop and deploy local EHS management systems, and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements, and much more.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading Site Management in achieving EHS results.
  • Driving the deployment of Alstom/Region/Country-Cluster EHS guidelines and targets.
  • Acting as the primary EHS leader by advising, coaching, and influencing operational management to meet EHS objectives.
  • Preparing and executing the local yearly EHS plan aligned with Alstom Transport strategy and objectives.
  • Overseeing EHS Risk Assessments and ensuring the implementation and sustainability of mitigation controls.
  • Leading the preparation, implementation, and continuous improvement of Emergency Plans at the Site level.
  • Ensuring subcontractor activities are controlled with respect to EHS, particularly in interface areas.
  • Exercising full authority to stop any operational activity posing an immediate high risk to People or the Environment.
  • Developing and maintaining the Site EHS Management System, including deploying local procedures and tools aligned with Alstom standards.
  • Leading the development and deployment of EHS training programs in collaboration with HR.

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Experience or understanding of Environment, Health & Safety practices, including risk assessments, emergency planning, and compliance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO45001 standards.
  • Familiarity with local legal EHS requirements and regulations.
  • A Health & Safety certification recognized by local authorities or equivalent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
  • Initiative and action-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Analytical thinking and a rigorous mindset.
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement tools and good computer skills.

Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is $85,000 – $105,000 CAD per year. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
