We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Logistics Methods Engineer position under Supply Chain. The position will report to the Supply Chain Engineering Manager and is based in Dunnottar

 

Job Purpose

  • The incumbent will be in charge to define internal and external flows for the operation
  • Defining & implementing contractual agreement / commitments on logistic & packaging specifications with suppliers
  • Anticipating, defining and coordinating operational processes such as transportation optimization or logistics process and method analysis. Designing, procuring and implementation of line feeding concepts
  •  Promote continuous improvement culture to improve costs reduction and material preservation

 

Key Responsibilities

  • In charge of defining and contractualizing logistic & packaging specifications with suppliers
  • He/she will propose returnable packaging in order to optimize transportation costs with suppliers and ensure just in time deliveries according to production line requirements
  • Simulate and implement solutions to optimise the line feeding processes.
  • Participate in cross functional meeting with production, warehouses & industrial department to validate supply area and define kitting processes.
  • Ensure material preservation from supplier shipment to production line delivery
  • Optimize internal & external flows
  • In charge of managing continuous improvement. This activity has to be carried out in order to meet lean manufacturing objectives 
  • Set-up KPI’S for follow-up activities
  • Identify and implement Kaizen projects
  • Define and implement Kanban systems

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma / B.Tech in Industrial Engineering
  • Similar experience of 3-5 years in an industrial environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Supply chain processes especially in warehouse & material flows
  • ERP: SAP
  • Analytical with advanced computer skill set
  • Lean manufacturing
  • Excellent communication
  • Team Player
  • CAD
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation
  • Project Management
  • Line side supply (Kitting trollies, Supply Routes, Supply Areas)

Special Requirements

The job involves frequent mobility, with work in several depots, and at times on the train corridors.

To carry out technical support and maintenance on 24/7 shift & on-call basis (night, day, weekend).
