Your future role

 

The Methods and Tools Engineer will drive business process efficiency by implementing and continuously improving engineering methodologies and toolsets. They will look to improve end-to-end (E2E) data flow across departments throughout the Development for Quality V-cycle contract execution, ensuring compliance with the Engineering Management Handbook and both local and central efficiency initiatives.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Act as the interface, for site, between engineering, IS&T and central M&T. 
  • Capture Métier needs, mitigate requirements to formalise functional specification according to tools’ capabilities. 
  • Accompany development progress of new solutions build with IS&T 
  • Assure Methodologies deploy among key user (KU) network, animate KU network through regular meetings, and ensure their Level2 assistance on functional issues.  
  • Study, formalise and maintain methodologies for Alstom tools usage; propose & validate alternatives with Métier if necessary,  
  • Establish Use cases and E2E Story with Métier: define functional validation plan and integration interfaces.  
  • Pilot UAT (User Acceptance Test) with selected Key Users (after IS&T unitary tests): consolidate status and propose potential workarounds.  
  • Assess impact on ecosystem and dataflow, evaluate change effort, define deployment plan, and set associated progress KPIs.  
  • Consolidate Training Kit, assure training of trainers on methodologies, and allocate training needs for site.

  • Experienced in Methodologies definition for Engineering and Project Offices. 
  • Experience of Engineering Data Management, (DMA/PLM4A/Catia) and experience in structuring of an engineering bill of materials. 
  • Knowledge of Engineering Design & Project Way of Working (Development For Quality, Project Manual, Eng Manual) to interface with KU. 
  • Understanding of Industrial Processes (Delmia, GSI, AOS) for interfaces & co-engineering. 
  • Able to manage simultaneously curative & structuring activities. 
  • Experience of working in a diverse and international environment. 
  • Pro-active, anticipating Risks & Opportunities.
