Your future role
We are looking for a Finance Project Manager (FPM) to join a major rolling stock programme. As a Finance Project Manager, you will act as a financial leader within the project, partnering closely with the Project Manager and core team to support the successful financial delivery of the project. You will play a critical role in steering financial performance, managing risks and opportunities, and enabling informed decision-making across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
We’ll look to you to:

Own and manage the project’s financial performance end-to-end (cost, revenue, margin, cash)

Maintain accuracy of cost allocations and classification, revenue and margin recognition (IFRS 15 compliance), cash flow planning and control.

Lead budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance reporting cycles.

Ensure the accuracy of financial data and alignment with project progress.

Ensure the accuracy of the cost baseline and forecasting, with a clear transition from tender to project execution.

Lead work package financial reviews and management.

Identify, quantify and monitor financial risks, including cost, cash and margin exposure, as well as opportunities for value creation.

Drive monthly financial performance reviews and ensure consistency of reporting.

Act as a trusted finance business partner, providing guidance and financial insight to the project team.

Ensure full compliance with financial governance, standards and reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide early warning of financial impacts and challenge assumptions to protect project performance.

- Proven experience in project finance, controlling and forecasting.
- Experience of working on a large-scale or complex engineering/infrastructure project.
- Strong track record of delivering financial performance in a project environment.
- Strong understanding of financial performance metrics, reporting, analysis, and associated risk and compliance frameworks
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and SAP.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- CIMA, ACCA or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
