Could you be the full-time Ceritification and Authorisation Engineer to join our C&A team in Derby and help prepare, in close collaboration with the other project team members, certification evidences and support the C&A Manager in the Certification & Authorisation process?

 

 

Your future role

 

Take on a new challenge in Derby and apply your Certification and Authorisation Engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Head of Authorisation UK, and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Engineering team in Alstom UK&I. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll carry out dedicated activities within the C&A processes in accordance with the C&A management plan during all project phases. Support the C&A Manager in the identification and preparation of requirements for Certification and/or Authorisation and in the preparation of evidences plans (e.g. for TSIs or National Rules) with the project team

 

We’ll look to you to:

  • Collect and compile the C&A evidences (e.g. for Pre-engagement, vehicle type authorisation, vehicles authorisation) to be submitted to conformity assessment bodies and/or the authorising entities
  • Organise periodic reviews of evidence documentation and assessment reports
  • Maintain the certification related data in the requirement management tools (e.g. Doors/Excel)
  • Compile and keep track of C&A relevant reporting (e.g. KPI, Cost overview)
  • Collaborate with the project team: Engineering, RAMS, Quality, Planning, Validation, Maintenance, Sourcing
  • Collaborate with independent assessors (e.g. NoBo, DeBo, AsBo) and authorising entities (e.g. ERA or NSA’s)
  • Participate to the modifications follow-up of the certified/authorised vehicle configuration(s)

  • Bachelor/Master Degree (Engineering, Physical Sciences or other related fields)
  • Technician/Certified Engineer (significant experience in Railway)
  • Experience in engineering projects
  • High degree of accuracy, clear communication style
  • Good experience with MS Office, Analysis/KPI preparation
  • Certification processes (railways, automotive, aerospace)
  • Project or Quality management
  • General knowledge of EU authorisation process
  • General knowledge of functional safety and validation
  • General knowledge of standards and regulations
  • Willingness to travel for project needs
  • English language (level B2) and fluent site/project relevant language (level C1)
