We are currently seeking an experienced Buyer for our Rolling Stock Sourcing team to be part of an exciting project based in our manufacturing site in Dandenong! Could you be the Buyer we’re looking for?


Your future role

You will be responsible for all Interior parts related to the Rolling Stock project Requirements

Day to day activities involving supplier development, RFQ management, supplier and contract negotiations and business award conclusion with Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Managing specific supplier panel relationships, including negotiations and maintaining local supplier performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Time (QCDT)
  • Actively participating in commodity strategy and supplier panel development
  • Supporting the Commodity Manager during tender phases
  • Representing the commodities team in projects, platforms, and solutions
  • Preparing and launching Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with suppliers using standard tools
  • Monitoring sourcing project QCDT and legal project evolution, including First Article Inspection (FAI), business awards, and product development

  • Degree in Business or Engineering, or demonstrable experience in purchasing or supply chain management
  • Previous experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or project-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and the ability to influence and convince stakeholders
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commodities in your area of specialization
