We currently have an exciting opportunity in our manufacturing methods team for a Site and Tools Industrial Engineer to join in Dandenong.


Reporting directly to the Methods & Tools Site Manager, the Industrial Tooling Engineer's primary responsibility is to define specific tooling, ensure its manufacturing and its implementation in production and perform tooling costings.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify the need for tooling with the PIM and the Costing Manager.
  • Evaluate the total cost of the tooling, broken down in the categories within the site requirements
  • Analyze the tooling requested and propose the adequate solution.
  • Write the functional specification and get approval from the Process & Manufacturing engineers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, EHS and Industrial Quality representatives.
  • Send documented purchase request, participate to RFQ analysis, and contribute to the business award with Sourcing.
  • Perform the design of the tooling or make it sub-contracted.
  • Validate the design through design reviews, involving above actors.
  • Validate the manufactured tooling.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Plant Maintenance preferably in the rail industry
  • Technical experience in Process & Manufacturing Engineering
  • Good practice of CAD and PLM tools
  • Familiar with FMEA, QRQC
