Could you be the full-time Lead Project Manager we’re looking for? 

 

Your future role

 

To Lead the Project Team to deliver projects of all appropriate sizes and complexities, although at times you may be required to assist in the delivery of sections of a larger Project.  Reporting to the Project Director and leading the team in the co-ordination of a number of tasks, within the work site and completing planned works to budget, safely and within set timescales.  The Lead Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining a high standard in all areas in accordance with Alstom, the Client, Suppliers, Contractors, Stakeholders, Partners (internally or externally) Policies & Procedures. 

 

We'll look to you to:

  • Undertake the role of Project Bids Manager on all tenders nominated by the Project Director. 
  • Overall project responsibility of multi discipline Signalling projects. 
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Project Execution Plan and programme. 
  • Preparation of the project Cost Performance Review and Contract Monthly End Sales documents. 
  • Demonstrate strong leadership of the project team. 
  • Site delivery of the project in line with the Project Management Plan and programme. 
  • Delivery of onsite construction works in line with the Project Programme. 
  • Effective communication and management of the client. 
  • Preparation of the Project Risk Management data base. 
  • Delivery of the project in compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Plans. 
  • Excellent management of the labour and plant resource profiles in line with the project programme.  
  • Ensure that all site reportable incidents are recorded and managed appropriately. 
  • Identify scope changes and ensure the Change Control process is followed.  
  • Input into the preparation and implementation of the Alstom Project Quality Management System throughout the project. 
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the client, contractors & suppliers at all levels throughout the project. 
  • Input into Reporting Injuries, Diseases & Dangerous Occurrences Regulation Reports
  • To undertake any travelling (where applicable) that may be necessary under the terms of your contract.
  • Demonstrate effective day to day management of the project. 
  • Undertake or nominate project staff to carry out all site briefings. 
  • Ensure that a comprehensive Daily Diary of site activities and events are produced and kept for each project. 
  • Assume Project Director role during nominated periods as required. 
  • To refer to shift & Weekend working arrangements, where applicable. 
  • Project close out. 

 

Role Requirements

 

Mandatory:  

  • To gain qualification into a recognised Project Management Institution within 1 year. 
  • Completion & qualification of various Health & Safety courses.
  • Association of Project Managers accredited training course. 
  • To Gain PTS, Safe Pass Certificate and Construction Skill Register
  • Completion & qualification of various Environmental courses
  • Understanding of The Railway Safety Act 2005 
  • Working Knowledge of the PSCS requirements

 

Desirable: 

  • Principle Investigation course/training/qualification. 
  • Risk Management training. 
  • The practitioner level of Association of Project Managers. 
  • Degree or Higher National Diploma.

 

Expérience

Mandatory:  

  •     Experience in leading a large, disparate, multi-disciplinary team  
  •     Substantial experience in the management of multi-disciplinary rail projects. 
  •     Experience in leading signalling renewal, relock & recontrol projects or equivalent projects 

 

Desirable: 

  • Managing projects in both Contractor & Client roles 
  • NEC forms of contract/Target Cost
