Do you want to join a world leader in the railway sector? Alstom Denmark is looking for an ambitious Validation and test Engineer.

 

As Validation & Test Engineer you will be a member of the V&V (Verification and Validation) team which defines the integration and validation test strategy and carries out the testing activities on a complex signaling project.

 

Signalling functionalities are tested in factory on the integrated system composed of three main sub-systems: Interlocking, Level 2 European Train Control System (ETCS) and Traffic Management System (TMS). The system also interfaces to numerous external systems and integration test activities are carried out with simulators and/or real interfacing components.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Define and/or review test procedures setting up relevant acceptance criteria against functional requirements and operational context descriptions.
  • Define regression test strategies for the incremental project deliveries by analysing the impact of software/data modifications on the system functionalities.
  • Support the deployment of the test environments and the implementation of test scripts.
  • Run the in-house system integration and validation tests on the system test environment in the customer laboratory.
  • Interface customer for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities.
  • Analyse test results (based on observations collected during the test and the evaluation of logs collected from the equipment under test).
  • Defect reporting and follow-up with designers responsible for the different sub-systems.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 3 to 5 years in designing or testing of railway signaling systems. It is also desirable to have a training or a specific experience within railway, such as Traffic Management System (TMS) or European Train Control System (ETCS)
  • Web-basedapplications (XML, WSDL, SOAP over HTTP protocol), Virtualization and Hypervisors (Hyper-V, VMWare), Systems administration in Windows and/or Linux and/or Networking principles based on Cisco will be considered a plus.
  • Fluent in English, and preferably speak a Scandinavian language.
