Do you want to join a world leader in the railway sector? Alstom Denmark is looking for an ambitious System Designer - Onboard.

 

Denmark has set an ambitious and radical goal to upgrade the totality of its mainline network. Alstom is there to set this ambition to life and has started the deployment of state-of-the-art ERTMS level 2 baseline 3 signaling technology both on the trackside infrastructure and train fleets. This technology will drastically improve the passenger experience by reducing the number of delays and increasing transport capacity.

 

As a System Designer you will formalize and maintain the system specifications (operational, functional, and constructional), application rules, and supporting processes descriptions and their associated verification, validation and assessments..

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Applies process, methods and tools as referenced by the program plans
  • collaborate with the System Architect and under the control of the System Engineering Manager he contributes to the system design and specification according to the development strategy established in the System Engineering Management Plan
  • For the system design you will:
    • Analyze, clarify, and confirm input requirements and needs
    • Perform conceptual design by preparing system models, design studies, design rationales, design principles, real time analysis, modelling & mock-ups,.. for technical de-risking and optimization
    • Solve Interfaces
    • Partner with RAM, safety, sub-system, software, product, and V&V teams to develop design concepts and definitions
    • Participates to technical reviews (design reviews, document reviews) including consultation to end-users, experts, and CCN according to specific needs and domains competencies relevance
  • For the system specification (system formalization) you will:
    • Elaborate formal modelling and requirements writing according to design standard and guidelines
    • Formalize and maintains the system specification (OCD, RS, AD, ID, PD) according to applicable templates content,
    • Partner with RAM, safety, sub-system, software, product, and V&V of the program to ensure specifications completeness and acceptance
    • Coordinate with program team members to implement design and work through design revisions
    • Ensure traceability through-out the formal documentation, up to the input needs (input specifications, CR)
    • Ensures verifications (document reviews, peer reviews) of system specifications
    • Put work products under configuration management
    • Supports the System Application Architect for projects and tenders (evolutions & anomalies analysis, documentation support)

Requirements

 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • System Engineering knowledge
  • Product & Domain knowledge
  • Ability to work transversally with Engineering teams
  • Design for safety (when required) and RAM compliance
  • Requirement management & writing
  • Concept Generation
  • System Architecting & System Interfaces
  • English communication skills

 

Language Requirement:

 

Excellent in speaking and writing in English.

 

Job Location

 

The incumbent is based in Copenhagen DK, with short time travels within DK, Sweden, and Norway.
