Traffic Management System is a subsystem providing a set of advanced features for railway traffic automation and regulation. It is the main Traffic Control Centre subsystem and can be scope of standalone project or  platform level contract. These systems provide railway operators advanced automation and decision support functions  to plan, regulate, automate and optimize the train traffic circulation on complex network. These systems are based on special software application, normally running on IT infrastructure/datacenter specially designed for business continuity and mission critical application.

 

Could you be the full-time Traffic Management System- System Design Engineer in Copenhagen we’re looking for?  

 

Your future role 

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside passionate, motivated and dedicated teammates. 

As a System Design Engineer , you will analyse the inputs needs (external or internal) and requirements, and design  the solution by re-using existing solutions (contract context) or by developing or adapting an existing one (project and program context)  Management System. Moreover, formalize and maintain the system specifications (operational, and functional), application rules, and supporting processes and their associated verification, validation and assessment 

 

As a member of the Project and program engineering team, you will use process, methods, and tools as directed by the project plans. You will work alongside the System Architect, Design Authority, and project Technical Manager to contribute to the system's design and specifications according to the project engineering plan. 

 

For system design, you will: 

  • Analyze, clarify, and confirm input requirements and needs. 

  • Do conceptual design by creating design models, studies, rationales, and principles for technical design and optimization. 

  • Collaborate with RAM, Safety, Human Factor, subsystem, Software, product, and V&V teams to develop design concepts and definitions. 

  • Participate in different reviews, including technical and design reviews, and take advice from experts. 

 

For system specification, you will: 

  • Write formal models and requirements according to design standards and guidelines. 

  • Maintain system specifications and templates and ensure completeness and acceptance. 

  • Work with RAM, Safety, Human Factor, software, product, and V&V teams to coordinate designs and revisions. 

  • Verify document reviews and peer reviews so that everything is as it should be. 

 

You will also sustain the system according to change requests, contribute to continuous improvement, and promote ALSTOM's Code of Ethics while adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct. 

 

All about you

  • Graduate with a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electronics and Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics and communication) or relevant. 

  • 3 years of professional experience in Railway Signalling domain, minimum, knowledge of railway safety standards. 

  • Hands-on experience in Mainline / Urban/ Passenger & Transit railway signalling, knowledge of any of the signalling subsystems such as Train control systems, wayside Interlocking and supervision systems, and Mainline/Urban Traffic Planning and management System worked on Signalling Design including Installation, Testing, and commissioning. 

  • Fluent in English reading, writing, and speaking.
