As a Project Contract Manager (PrCM) you will be a key member of the project team, working in close collaboration with the Project Manager and core project team.  You will provide guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive proactive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with Alstom’s business objectives, including extensions of time (EoTs), variations orders, contract amendments.  You must ensure to keep proper record and file preparation in support of robust claim files.

 

Moreover, for Dispute Arbitration Board (DAB) or similar non-litigation mechanism for dispute resolution, you are required to prepare DAB files, referral notes along with substantial evidence and active participation in the process before the adjudication board or similar board.

 

Furthermore, for litigation process handled by Legal Team, you will support the Legal team and/or external counsel in the process.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that the application of the Contracts, Claims and Insurance Management Manual (CCIM) and Alstom governance are well documented.
  • Prepare Contract Summary and ensure it is widely communicated and regularly updated.
  • Prepare with core project team the Contract Management Strategy Plan (CMSP)
  • Analyze the contract to build and drive implementation of Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plan, as well as keep it updated and communicated with project team on quarterly basis.
  • Monitor work towards contract obligations, including support to monitoring of project schedule to achieve contractual milestones.
  • Implement project specific commercial procedures, particularly regarding correspondences, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders and claims preparation files. 
  • Collaborate with Documentation Controller and/or Project Contract Administrator, to ensure a reliable filing and easy access of all correspondences.
  • Manage insurance policies and keep their validity in collaboration with Regional Insurance Manager. Keep the Regional Insurance Manager updated regarding all changes/ deviation to insurance policies.
  • Develop a pragmatic commercial approach based on contractual analysis of the project, to protect, daily, Alstom interests
  • Notify customer/partners and any third-party regarding claims/counterclaims and manage all elements and supporting documentation for claims/counter claims negotiations.
  • Monitor customer/partner requests for variations / change orders / extensions of time. Provide a follow-up to drive to a transactional closure, including updates to the VO/VR/Delay registers, preparation of commercial offer, and prepares associated contractual letters for relevant stakeholder approval.
  • Provide a proactive advice on specific issues, risks, contractual/claims activities, considering the contract and business objectives.
  • Reports about the contract management and claims activities to the project, Legal, and Contract Management teams.
  • Ensure that the Contract management KPIS are reported, including gathering the inputs from Key supplier Contract Managers and Insurance Managers.
  • Provide a training on contract/claim management to key project stakeholders, including project management, finance, engineering, sourcing.

 

Requirements

 

  • Graduated with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics or business sciences is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of Contract/Claim Management experience (preferred) / Project Management
  • Strong ability to read and interpret contractual documents, including terms and conditions, planning, and technical specifications 
  • Good knowledge in understanding projects finance and impact of contract/claim management on project’s profitability.                                                                 
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Willingness and ability to be creative and bring forward new ideas and innovations.
  • Must communicate with precision and transparency.

 

To perform this job successfully, you should have knowledge of Contract Management systems; Project Management software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Word Processing software.

 

Language Requirement:

 

Excellent in speaking and writing in English. Danish language will be a plus.

 

Job Location

 

The job is in Copenhagen, Denmark. Must be able to travel up to 20% to 30% of the time.
