Do you want to join a world leader in the railway sector? Alstom Denmark is looking for an ambitious Method Design Engineer.


Denmark has set an ambitious and radical goal to upgrade the totality of its mainline network. Alstom is there to set this ambition to life and has started the deployment of state-of-the-art ERTMS level 2 baseline 3 signaling technology both on the trackside infrastructure and train fleets. This technology will drastically improve the passenger experience by reducing the number of delays and increasing transport capacity.

We are now looking for a Method Design Engineer to support our projects in Denmark. The location is Copenhagen, but the position might require some travelling to other sites in the Nordics.

As a Method Design Engineer, you will prepare and execute installation design activities including site survey report, technical documentation, technical specifications and method statements.

Key Responsibilities For this Role Includes:


  • Participating to the site detailed survey; collecting the data of the design baseline (dismounting parts, layout capture and 3D scanning, define LOTO procedure). Surveys are including in a wide range of fleets; passenger trains, locomotives and maintenance machines in the Nordics.
  • Creation of the installation procedure; define the best way to fit the ERTMS equipment inside existing trains.
  • Develop all the work instructions with detailed steps needed for the installation procedure.
  • Distribute the workload to the team members to have an efficient split of activities on site to reduce the installation lead-time.
  • Propose a “right-first-time” mindset to fulfil quality requirement during installation.
  • Follow up the First of Class train; on site visit to exchange with the installation team, collect feedback and improvements suggestions to satisfy internal customers requests.
  • Create the installation control report template, document used by installation team to control progress via check-ups.
  • Develop detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for specific Installation activities.
  • Been the best never stops, be a proposition strength for a good methodology and best practice for installation activities. Keeping in mind a continuous improvement mindset, to always seek for ameliorations.





  • Master’s degree in engineering school / university, specialization or oriented in electrical or/and mechanical design or specialization or oriented in system of production / method / industrial process.
  • Previous experience working within railway industry is an advantage
  • Knowledge of INVENTOR/CATIA
  • 3 years of experiences in R&D, industrial or manufacturing industry



Language Requirement:


Excellent in speaking and writing in English.
