Denmark has set an ambitious and radical goal - to upgrading the totality of its mainline network. Alstom is there to set their ambition to life and has started the implementation of the state-of-the-art ERTMS level 2 baseline 3 signalling technology, to the trackside and onboard the fleets. This technology will drastically improve the passenger experience by reducing the number of delays and increasing transport capacity.


We are now looking for a Certification & Authorization Manager to support one of our projects in Copenhagen, Denmark.


Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Leading Common Safety Methods activities with customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Leading Safety and Certification activities for rolling stock changes according to EU 2018/545.
  • Managing interface to customer, railway operators and national safety authorities to achieve APIS as per project targets.
  • Supporting definition and execution of the Certification & Authorization Project Plan in line with Project QCD objectives.
  • Managing updates to Project Certification & Authorization applicable for legal referential and associated requirements.
  • Managing Planning all the C&A-related activities in coordination with Project team based on existing standards, regulations and return on experience from previous or similar projects.
  • Preparing the procurement of external assessment services: creation of call for tender documents based on the defined scope of assessment, conducting the tender process, evaluation of tenders, contract drafting and negotiations with assessors in collaboration with the purchasing department.
  • Monitoring the development of evidences/means of proofs with the relevant stakeholders, by conducting regular workshops with various departments and sub-contractors.
  • Organizing and managing the assessment process with external assessors (Notified Bodies, Country Designated Bodies, etc), monitoring/follow-up of related action plans, review and approval of assessments reports.
  • Compiling the Certification and Authorization dossiers: definition of the content, compliance to formal requirements, file the official authorization requests towards European and / or National authorities.



Skills and education

The candidate we are looking for have a master’s degree, either in Engineering or equivalent. You also have 5 years relevant experience of Certification & Authorization process in Railways domain. Preferably, you are familiar with European and/or Danish Railways regulations (e.g. through DSB, ERA or NSA training), as well as knowledge of rolling stock and signalling systems.


As a person you are a rigorous and reliable team player who works both autonomously and proactively with your projects. You have excellent communication and coordination skills used towards your internal and external stakeholders. You must also be fluent in English and Danish language skills are viewed as an asset.
