Could you be the full-time SPQD Lead (Motors) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu we’re looking for?


Your role as SPQD Lead

  • Take on a new challenge and apply your supplier quality management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates.

  • You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring supplier quality for designated commodities across projects, contributing to the delivery of reliable and innovative mobility solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, procurement, and project management), conduct supplier risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Alstom standards, and much more.

  • You’ll specifically take care of monitoring and validating supplier product/process development and deploying the Part Approval Process and SPQD cycle, but also support resolution of non-conformities and warranty issues until FAI Go.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading supplier quality activities for designated commodities across projects

  • Monitoring and validating supplier product/process development against Alstom standards

  • Defining and deploying the Part Approval Process and SPQD cycle

  • Conducting supplier risk assessments and ensuring compliance before “Go Order”

  • Making Go/No-Go decisions for production and FAI milestones

  • Tracking supplier deliverables via the Supplier Quality Portal (SQP) and driving suppliers to meet FAI Go On-Time targets

  • Evaluating supplier maturity (FMEA, control plans, work instructions)

  • Preparing incoming inspection requirements for first deliveries

  • Reporting regularly on project quality status and contributing to continuous improvement

  • Role: Individual Contributor, Primary reporting to SPQD Manager and Dotted line to Site Quality Head.


All about you

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • Experience: Minimum 10–15 years with strong exposure in Supplier Quality of machining, welding, and casting components from motor or gearbox assembly, generator manufacturing, or rotary motor products

  • Understanding of supplier quality management and industrial processes (forging, heat treatment, brazing, painting)

  • Knowledge of risk analysis methodologies (PFMEA, control plans)

  • Familiarity with CMM inspection, SPC, MSA, and GR&R

  • Experience in technical specification validation and supplier audits

  • Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Tamil

  • Shift: General Shift

  • Travel: Up to 50% travel across India, primarily to western and central regions.
