OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- The purpose of Industrial Engineer is to Define, Measure, Analyze and deploy reduction plan for Process times.
- Define the Workstation, Production line and Infra requirements through Manufacturing Line Design
- Define and monitor footprint evolution over the site level and coordinate with HR for factory layout approval.
- Deploy Recurrent cost saving ideas to reduce the Industrial Times as per Business Targets
- Define Blue collar Headcount requirements as per Sales & Operational Planning – Yearly / Quarterly / Monthly
- Lead Implementation of APSYS Lean practices in Site
- Implement Kaizens for Improved Productivity & Quality
- Define & Lead Implementation of EHS & Ergonomic working conditions of the Site
- Lead improvement projects with Industrial Project approach to achieve SQCD Targets in his/her perimeter
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support the Bids & Tenders team with Method time Estimate data for new Project Tenders
- Method time Definition for New projects using MTM Datacards or VA/NVA analysis using Video study
- Develop & Contribute to MTM Datacards creation for New processes/Changes
- Prepare Manufacturing Routing tasks with operation sequence and Method time
- Lead and Animate Site level VSM workshops for Lead time reduction
- Perform Continuous observation study and identify opportunities for improvement in Method time/Spent time
- Prepare Manufacturing Line design with workstation requirements based on S&OP and declare Capacities of Each Product line
- Continuously Improve the Capacities of the production line through Bottleneck/Theory of Constraints Approach
- Define Headcount requirements for Manufacturing based on Method time and S&OP volumes
- Perform EHS & Ergonomics analysis using standard assessment checklists, Define action plan for improvements and implement.
- Perform and Participate in P-FMEA and QRQC’s
- Drive Continuous Improvements and implement it for improvements in Method time, Spent time, EHS & Ergonomics
- Manage Indirect suppliers to get the work done based on Organization needs
- Continuously work to reduce the Industrial costs
- Identify and implement innovation in Tools, Jigs & Fixtures
- Bring ideas to the Process & Methods Engineer for Operational Excellence by optimizing Process & Product
- Train Industrial teams on Industrial Times & Ergonomics and ensure effective Design reviews with respect to Ergonomics & Process times
- Actively participate and Contribute to Lean and Efficient Plant layouts by deploying Lean tools
- Reporting the Daily, Weekly and Monthly dashboard for Industrial Engineering
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
1. BE/ME in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
2. Proficient in English – Read, Write and Speak
3. Familiar with Microsoft excel, Powerpoint and Common IT Tools
4. Knowledge of AutoCAD

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
-
- Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering background with Minimum 8 years of Industrial experience preferably in Auto or railway industry.
- Experience in General Assembly process. Electrical harness assembly is preferred.
- Technical experience of Process Engineering, developing manufacturing work instructions, line balancing.
- Knowledge of Jigs and Fixture Design/Manufacturing
- Productivity improvement and Cost saving techniques
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma tools (Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Professionals Preferred)
- Experience in project management
- Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration followup
- Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics
- Process FMEA, A3 Approach and 8D
- Time analysis (MTM 1,2 or UAS, MOST, MODAPTS & Stop watch study)
- Knowledge on QMS/EMS & OHSAS
