Could you be the full-time Systems Engineer in Cluj-Napoca we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your systems engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in delivering technical support and engineering solutions to meet the obligations of the Services TSSSA contract for the Class 701 fleet. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance), investigate technical issues, and develop solutions to improve performance and reliability.
You’ll specifically take care of analysing fleet performance and ensuring safety and reliability, but also provide technical guidance and deliver training materials to enhance team capabilities.

We’ll look to you for:

•    Providing technical support to resolve performance or maintenance issues and enhance knowledge of train systems
•    Monitoring, analysing, and investigating technical issues to develop timely solutions
•    Conducting technical, incident, or accident investigations and implementing containment or solutions
•    Measuring availability, reliability, and safety targets, and managing claims and fault attribution
•    Developing written reports, technical instructions, and training materials
•    Supporting and guiding technicians and colleagues to ensure effective teamwork and high-quality service delivery
•    Identifying opportunities for cross-site initiatives to improve processes and performance
•    Developing and implementing safe and effective modifications or changes to maintenance specifications
•    Delivering material technical support, reviewing material performance, and identifying products for improvement

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
•    Degree or HNC/HND in an engineering-related subject (Chartered or in the process of becoming Chartered is a plus)
•    Relevant experience in services, systems engineering, fault finding, or attribution
•    Technical knowledge of schematics and maintenance of systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, electronic, and computer systems)
•    Experience in the rail industry, ideally with modern rolling stock and Aventra platform knowledge
•    Working knowledge of IT systems (e.g., MS Office)
•    Familiarity with maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo) is a plus
•    Ability to collect and interpret data and prepare reports
•    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
•    Independent in your work while also being a team player

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
•    Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
•    Work with new security standards for rail signalling
•    Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
•    Contribute to innovative projects
•    Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment
•    Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
•    Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
•    Progress towards senior engineering or leadership roles
•    Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
