Could you be the full-time Finance Project Controller (SSC Mannheimin Cluj-Napoca), Romania we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

 

Co-pilot to the Project Manager to ensure focus on the achievement of the financial goals of the project. Provides all required financial information about the project. Support Project Management, control the monthly margin realization, monitor and support the EAC change process, support project planning, and ensure that Alstom accounting guidelines are respected. Single point of contact for all financial issues relating to the specific project portfolio controlled. Close monitoring of the project deliverables. Early assessment and measuring of financial impact of risks and opportunities with regular follow-ups on action plans. Proactively follow and challenge the project cash flow and gross margin. 

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

Business partnering:

  • SSMs/PMs & Project Core Team; incl. PUs
  • Cooperation with/ Report to FPMs (LUs)
  • WPCs from involved PUs (consolidated & deconsolidated)
  • Finance expert functions: e.g. Tax and Customs, Treasury and Financing, Internal Audit
  • Expert functions: e.g. Legal, Platforms, Operational Excellence, etc

 

Reports

  • Monthly cost control (Contract Income Statement)
  • Reporting projects (consolidation at sub-system level needed)
  • Actual vs forecast/budget analysis and cost reallocation
  • Analysis of Sales, Total Costs and Gross  margin based on actuals

 

Sales, invoicing and cash management

  • Internal invoice calculation
  • Internal invoicing plan 
  • Internal invoice prepartion/creation- on demand (when person resposible for is not available)
  • Internal overdue analysis and reporting on demand

 

Contract

  • Subsystem EAC/ISP management
  • Contract subsystem closure

 

Project reviews

  • SSR preparation --> input for MPRs/FPRs
  • Risk and opportunity analysis (with SSM)
  • Early warnings & ROO preparation (with SSM)
  • Project consolidation at sub-system level

 

MEC and BS items

  • Contract overview on subsystem level
  • Cost reclass/corrections on subsystem level
  • Contract provisions management on subsystem level
  • BS accounts reconciliation on subsystem level
  • Other booking instructions, related to the Subsystem

 

Forecast/Budget

Forecast/Budget cycles incl. inputs in Polaris (EAC changes + phasing)

 

Audit

On-demand audit requests

 

Master data

Contract structure creation, related to Subsystem

 

FIN Systems

  • FCAST/LE/TYP - inputs in POLARIS, coordiation with other participants within the same RU
  • ODYC - inputs for forecast (FPRs) for resposible site (MU); coordination of other involved PUs in project)

 

Other/ General

  • Challenge and approve Project Financials (cash, competitiveness) as per Delegation of authority (DoA
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, especially for tax and statutory accounts purposes
  • Contribute to negotiation processes to secure project success (customer and / or partner)
  • Support SSM in risks and opportunities process and sign-off contingencies/committed savings
  • Contribute effectively with the project initial set up
  • Communicate effectively with Subsystem Stakeholders and provide reliable financial analysis to assist in the decision-making (Explain, justify and keep record in detail)
  • Explain, justify and keep record in detail of the estimates
  • Understanding the Project Organization (PxO) focused on Financial Flows
  • Managing and analyzing costs
  • Preparing timely forecasts for internal sales, costs
  • Supporting the finance teams in the monthly closing process and reporting Project financials in a suitable manner
  • Follow the project in the different stages: Execution, Warranty and closing
  • Participation in PCMs/ WPRs /SSRs & other project meetings on demand
  • Preparation to Site/BOG financial meetings (FIN Heatmap)

  • Finance degree or any other relevant discipline (Finance / Business / Economics related)
  • 5+ years Experience in Finance/Accounting processes and systems
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong general business understanding and experience in complex multi-national organizations
  • Previous experience in accounting roles(AP, AR, CM, Treasury, GL, CL
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving
  • Communication & Teamwork inside and outside GFC
  • Excellent time management and organizational ability
  • Positive and proactive attitude, with resilience under pressure
  • Strong communication abilities in handling time sensitive topics together with more senior positions (Local / Group)
  • Attention to Detail / Task Oriented Mindset  
  • Management of complex topics 
  • Comfort with financial data and ability to transform into clear/concise messages 
  • Previous experience in Internal Control and Audit is a plus
  • Another European language would be a plus
  • Advanced tools experience is a plus (SAP GSI, Teranga, Qlikview, Polaris, Power Automate, Power Query)
