Could you be the VIE - Traction Power Design Engineer  we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative and collaborative teammates.

You'll help shape the future of traction power systems by defining power schemes and designing electrical components for traction drives or auxiliary converter systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as mechanical departments, validation engineers, and suppliers), contribute to defining design rules and deliverables, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of calculating electrical or thermal constraints for power schemes and specifying electrical components, but also contribute to validation tests and participate in on-site commissioning activities.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Writing deliverables for power systems using design rules and standards
  • Contributing to the development of knowledge guidelines and return of experience
  • Defining interfaces of electrical components with mechanical departments
  • Specifying and designing electrical components, including power electronic components, switchgears, traction motors, and more
  • Collaborating with suppliers for design definition and component qualification
  • Supporting validation testing and participating to problem-solving activities

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience or understanding of electrical, thermal constraints and power schemes
  • Global knowledge of power electronic components and their interfaces
  • Familiarity with design and simulation tools such as MATLAB, MATHCAD, …
  • Aptitude to communicate effectively in English
  • Aptitude to read and communicate in French
  • Ability to be creative and innovative
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
  • Contribute to innovative projects

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
