Could you be the VIE - Sub-System Manager Support we’re looking for?
Your future role
As a VIE Sub-System Manager Support, you will assist the Sub-System Manager (SSM) in coordinating activities related to traction and rolling stock subsystems.
You will contribute to the follow-up of technical deliverables, project documentation, and interface management between engineering, project teams, and the customer.
This role is intended to provide exposure to subsystem management in a complex project environment, offering a first experience in project execution, customer interface, and technical coordination within the rail industry.
We’ll look to you for:
• Support the SSM in managing the technical scope of traction/rolling stock subsystems during project execution.
• Contribute to monitoring subsystem requirements, ensuring consistency with project needs.
• Participate in project reviews and assist in preparing documentation, reports, and progress updates.
• Follow up with internal teams (design, industrialization, validation, safety, RAM, etc.) to ensure deliverables are aligned and on time.
• Support the SSM in the interface with the client, providing clarification and feedback when needed.
• Assist in risk identification and contribute to action plans for mitigation.
• Ensure QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) objectives are supported through structured follow-up and coordination.
• No involvement in R&D or design activities – focus is strictly on execution and support.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
• Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field).
• A first experience (internship, academic project, or VIE) in system engineering, project management, or industrial projects is a plus.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to support interactions with multiple stakeholders.
• Structured, analytical, and organized mindset.
• Eagerness to learn, autonomy, and adaptability in a multicultural environment.
• Fluent in English; French is an asset.
What We Offer
• A unique opportunity to join Alstom through the VIE program and discover the traction and rolling stock domain.
• Direct exposure to large-scale international railway projects.
• Mentoring by experienced Sub-System Managers.
• A multicultural environment fostering professional and personal development.
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
