Could you be the full-time Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke Engineer in Charleroi we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical and environmental expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in driving the environmental performance of our products, ensuring compliance with Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke standards, and contributing to the development of sustainable solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (design, sourcing, safety) to manage project deliverables, ensure compliance, and enhance processes, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of defining requirements for Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke in tenders and projects, but also contribute to the Environmental Management System (ISO14001) with valuable inputs and activities.
We’ll look to you for:
- Ensuring Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke expertise for local platforms, subsystems, tenders, and projects
- Preparing management plans and specifications for Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke
- Contributing to design processes to achieve Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke commitments
- Realising and updating Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke studies throughout the project lifecycle
- Verifying supplier deliverables and certifications
- Preparing reports and documentation according to QCD and process requirements
- Supporting the team in achieving authorizations
- Maintaining databases and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
All about you

- Degree in Ecodesign Engineering, Material Engineering with environmental experience, or Mechanical Engineering with material and environmental experience
- Experience or understanding of technical requirements in the railway industry or comparable industrial sectors
- Knowledge of international standards and guidelines regarding environmental and fire protection (e.g., hazardous substances, recyclability)
- Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems such as ISO14001
- A structured and customer-oriented approach
- Good communication and time management skills
- Proficiency in English and French
