Your Mission

As a Traction System Engineer, you will define and optimize the architecture and functionalities of traction and auxiliary systems to ensure the highest level of performance, safety, and reliability. By working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that our products meet customer expectations and comply with industry standards.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Collaborate with Stakeholders:
    • Translate customer needs, industry standards, and internal requirements into actionable inputs for technical teams.
  1. Design Cutting-Edge Systems:
    • Define and develop the architecture and functionalities of traction systems and auxiliary converters, optimizing for performance, cost, and sustainability.
    • Ensure all designs comply with critical criteria such as weight constraints, volume allocation, acoustics, safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), ...
  1. Lead System Validation and Testing:
    • Work closely with validation teams to establish testing strategies and ensure compliance through rigorous evaluation and fine-tuning.
    • Participate in the commissioning phase to guarantee that systems operate effectively in real-world conditions.
  1. Manage Risks and Ensure Quality:
    • Proactively identify potential technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Support the development and implementation of solutions to improve quality, cost, and delivery (QCD).
  1. Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyze feedback and address technical challenges during the commissioning and reliability growth phases to refine our solutions.
    • Share insights to enhance future designs and contribute to documentation practices.

 

 

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Good command of both English and French

 

Relevant Experience:

  • Proven experience in being part of large-scale projects within electrical engineering field, showcasing effective planning, execution, and delivery skills.
  • Proficient in modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) for the design and analysis of electrical systems.
  • Interdisciplinary experience working alongside mechanical, electronic, control software, etc… to develop complete systems.
  • Experience in assessing and managing technical risks throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of control systems applied to traction systems, enhancing system performance and reliability.
  • Experience working in international or multicultural teams, demonstrating the ability to thrive in diverse and collaborative environments.

 

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in the rail industry or a similar high-complexity sector, preferably in the field of power electronics.
