Purpose of the Job
Participate to the complete development cycle of the embedded software for Traction converter, by assuring the works of design and test of the software for Command-Control, following the standard 50128 within the framework of national or international rail projects.
Collaborating with the Traction Control and Validation Software Engineers, the Software Engineer design software, realize integration activities, generating embedded and simulation for traction applicative software, based on functional requirements specification documents (FRS).

Functional reporting to Traction Project Engineering Manager (PrEM).

Missions
Performance Measurement/KPI’s
- Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) indicators, for security of the persons, the properties and the environment, by applying the safety regulations of the company.
- Periodically followed-up by the PrEM and the Software Team Leader.
- Control command & contractual software are accepted by customers (internal & final)
- Quality of the delivered work through the software development cycle, software anomalies report files and change request files.
- Respect and improve the costs allocated.
- Respect the delivery planning and follow-up the software development documents
- None non-compliances for delivery during Quality audits (IRIS, Certifer)
- Correct application of referenced evolution and software procedures
- Number of modification due to problem of coding (validation internal or tests,…)
Responsibilities
- Respect and apply the EHS rules
- Work on many projects and manage the priorities
- Design application software for traction and auxiliary converters
- Respect the design and EN50657 internal process
- Co-ordinate Software Design for Traction/Auxiliary system with Software and Control team for whole train and he is the one who support/lead during technical review or for training with the final customer
- Support the Traction Control Engineer for the functional requirement specification writing
- Write the software requirement specification according to the functional requirement specification
- Write the quality documentation
- Support the validation activities on test bench
- Support the commissioning team and Traction/Auxiliary control teams
- Respect the QCD and update the indicators of software activity
- Participate to the design reviews
- Participate in audits within the framework of the software certifications
- Responsible for the configuration management of the software project
- For the responsible of the workload activity :
- Insure the reporting to the PrEM, TrSE and Team Leader
- Manage project Software team
- Manage software development planning in agreement with project planning ,
- Organize software development with the validation team in term of planning according to the project requirements,
- Organize and realize the follow-up of activities placed under your responsibility (budget and workloads), following the criteria: Quality, Cost, Delay (QCD)
- Insure technical interfaces with subcontractors team and delivery acceptation on software development project, respecting Alstom processes and legislation rules,
Job Specifications
Knowledge & Experience :
- Experience of at least 2 years in real time software design and standard application
- Advanced knowledge with embedded Software system
- Advanced knowledge with Integrated Development Environment with CEI 61131 Languages (Control Build, Matlab/Simulink)
- Basic knowledge with configuration management principle
- Basic knowledge with requirement traceability principle
- Basic knowledge with Configuration and change management tools
- Basic knowledge in Control system
- Basic knowledge in power control electronic
- Good knowledge in Electronics boards (Architecture and basic software) appreciated
- Good English oral & written expression
- Autonomous, analysis capability, team spirit, good communication skills
Team size :
If Workload responsible, depend on the project (from 1 to 5 people).
