About the role

Join a high-level traction software team working on safety-critical embedded systems at the heart of modern trains.

As a Traction Project Software Leader, you play a key role in the development, integration and delivery of embedded software for traction and auxiliary converters used on light rail and railway platforms.

You work closely with software development, software validation, system, validation, safety teams, contributing directly to the performance, reliability and safety of trains in operation.

This role offers a strong mix of technical leadership, project coordination within an experienced and collaborative team.

 

Your key responsibilities

Technical leadership & software delivery

You contribute directly to the design, development and delivery of embedded software for Integrated Traction & Auxiliary Converters.

  • Contribute to software architecture, specifications and technical decisions
  • Design, develop and test embedded software components
  • Support integration, verification and validation activities
  • Ensure configuration management and software quality

Project coordination & interfaces

You act as a key interface between software, system, safety and validation teams.

  • Coordinate software development activities within your scope
  • Contribute to planning, progress tracking and QCD commitments
  • Participate in software change management (CCB)
  • Identify and escalate risks impacting delivery or quality

Quality, safety & continuous improvement

You ensure compliance while contributing to long-term improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with railway standards (EN 50716)
  • Contribute to verification, validation and quality plans
  • Participate in software design reviews
  • Contribute to standardisation, reuse and continuous improvement initiatives

 

What we are looking for

Education

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (Software, Electronics, Control Systems or related field)

Experience & technical background

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in real-time embedded software development
  • Solid experience in development for complex systems
  • Proven exposure to railway or other safety-critical environments
  • Experience with system verification, validation and integration
  • Fluent in English and French

Nice to have

  • Experience with Simulink / ControlBuild
  • Knowledge of railway safety standards (EN 50128 / EN 50156/ EN 50716)
  • Previous exposure to technical leadership or coordination roles
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams
