Alstom has been part of Belgian railway history for 130 years through its connection with the former rail transport equipment subsidiary of SA Ateliers de Constructions Électriques de Charleroi (ACEC).   Today, Alstom Belgium employs 1050 people and is involved in approximately 100 major projects worldwide.

The site in Charleroi has developed unique expertise in electrical and electronic systems within two centres of excellence that operate at a global level : one focuses on traction systems and the other on signalling and railway traffic control systems, with a particular emphasis on equipment that complies with the European standard (European  Rail  Traffic  Management  System/ ERTMS).  The teams develop systems, manufacture prototypes, perform tests and trials, complete approval procedures and manage integration projects.  An after sales service activity completes the offer for these product groups.  Alstom Belgium pursues an ambitious growth strategy by actively investing in R&D.  The work carried out by its team of 100 research engineers makes a significant contribution to the development of a sustainable rail transport system. 



As Supply Chain Manager you manage Regional Center logistic flows (Reception / Warehousing / Shipment).

You are in charge of planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Supply Chain, Logistics and Procurement activities according to the Alstom guidelines and policies and based on customer (internal & external) needs, with the overall objectives of profitable growth through customer care and quality improvement. You deliver Excellence and Drive action plans to reach QCD targets with the right EHS level. You report to the Industrial Operations Director.



Specific responsibilities of the role: 


Your scope of responsibility includes following activities :

  • Material Planning & Inventory: Manage the full set of processes from demand planning to inventory management to ensure material availability for production and installation while mastering inventory level.
  • Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management: implement and run end to end processes from order placement in SAP to supplier delivery. Manage Supplier operational interface (information flows, scheduling agreements/call-offs, performance reviews, capacity anticipation and control, expediting) to ensure on time delivery (OTIF). Develop local actions plans in collaboration with Sourcing and Supplier Quality.
  • Warehousing & Logistics: implement and run Logistics standards for physical material flow (goods reception, warehousing, picking, line replenishment, and shipping). Ensure optimization of warehousing, packaging and physical flow. Implement lean Manufacturing principles. Manage 3PLs.
  • Project Supply Chain Management: In close interaction with project teams, coordinate the whole set of Supply Chain activities to ensure SC contribution.
  • ERP-implementation and master data quality: Drive system initialization and data integrity. Ensure key users are in place to support critical processes and users.


More specifically, you are expected to:

  • Set up and develop site Supply Chain organization capable to meet business targets.
  • Define yearly budget for site SC costs and inventories
  • Improve Supply Chain costs competitiveness
  • Drive and optimize Planning and Sales administration process
  • Drive and optimize Procurement process
  • Drive and optimize Logistic flows on site
  • Lead improvement action plan on QCD and EHS results
  • Ensure people development in supply chain activities
  • Put in place Lean approach in supply chain activities
  • Ensure APSYS deployment and maturity improvement

  • Previous experience :
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a Supply Chain and industrial production environment.
    • At least 5 years’ experience as a Team Manager.
    • Valuable experience in companies of same the sector/activity or related.
    • Experience in Profit & Loss and cost control of assets


  • Education 
    • University Degree in Technical/Manufacturing Engineering
    • Master in Supply Chain Management will be a plus
    • Fluent in English and French
    • Any other European languages will be a plus
