Purpose of the job


As Communication Director for Benelux, you will report directly to the Managing Director of Benelux and have direct contacts with the VP Communication Europe. He/She will have to ensure consistent communication externally and internally, support business in the Benelux Cluster in close coordination with internal & external stakeholders. The candidate will first be the Deputy Communication Director and then replace the Benelux Communication Director in about 1 year time when she will retire.

In Benelux, Alstom employs about 2400 persons in 5 major sites in Belgium and the Netherlands.


Responsibilities and Objectives


• Developing the communication strategy, plan and budget

• Developing Alstom’s image towards external and internal stakeholders

• Defining messaging at Country level

• Managing company reputation and crisis communication

• Supporting business developments, tenders, promoting Alstom’s solutions and major successes

• Supporting the management team of the region in engaging employees around Alstom strategy

• Promoting the products, services and technologies through communication tools and activities with a focus on media relations, digital media and exhibitions.

• Managing the deployment of internal programs, strategic decisions and information towards employees


Requirements / Experience / Competencies


• We are looking for a senior communication professional (10/15 years’ experience) with an expertise in internal and external communication in a B to B global company. Knowledge of the transportation market will be appreciated.

• She/he must have strong skills in media relations, a strong strategic mindset, a clear and simple communication, be agile, creative and autonomous with a demonstrated ability to build a plan to support Alstom’s strategy.

•  University Degree is mandatory

•  Fluent English, French and Flemish are required.

• Job located in Brussels with frequent business trips inside Benelux (Charleroi, Bruges, Rotterdam, Ridderkerk, Utrecht…) + Paris (Group HQ).
