Project Change Manager - Implementation

Purpose of the job:

  • Drive the progression of all changes through the Implementation Phase to completion.
  • Ensures that the Change Management process is properly applied and ChM principles are rigorously respected.
  • Works with the “Change Manager – Preparation” to ensure smooth transition from Planning & Approval Phase of Change to Implementation Phase of Change.


  • Plans, implements and drives Change implementation process within their project or program.
  • Leads cross functional Change Implementation Boards (CIB) and drives all functions towards efficient and effective implementation of approved changes.
  • Owns and produces the KPI pack and all ChM reporting for the project
  • Leads Modification Approval Boards (MAB) and controls the preparation, monitoring, reporting and overall governance of the process.
  • Reviews all Mods as the Project Management Signatory.
  • Attends and actively participates in the Change Board meetings – driving for the projects needs whilst respecting the Product Family approach. Has key input to the verification of the Implementation plan for each CR.
  • Ensures the "end-to-end" traceability of every change request including assignment to Baseline and/ or Target Configuration. Uses the Change Control Tool (CCT) to clearly document activity through all steps throughout the implementation of a Change, as defined within the local instructions.
  • Ensures completeness, correctness, clarity and timeline of Change Requests in cooperation with the change requestor from Preparation to Approval to Implementation and Closure.
  • Ensures the necessary Change Management tools are in place including all interfaces (e.g. Customers Reporting & SharePoints).
  • Works closely with the Configuration Team to ensure Configuration Reports (particularly at key project milestones) are accurate and timely.
  • Supports during discussions with external parties for key activities such as Accreditation audits, Authorisation reviews etc.
  • Supports to analyse, review, maintain ChM related risks and opportunities.
  • Resolves and escalates any CCM related issues in the project to the Project Director and the respective supervisor of the ChM function for resolution.
  • Represents Change Management Function within Project Core Team Meetings (PCT) including preparing and presenting any standard (or specific Project Requested) KPI’s
  • Assess the training needs for all Project functions, which are involved in the process. Requests specific training sessions where required from the ChM Function Lead.
  • Ensures configuration is formalised and adequate at any time to deliver the configuration and change documentation to the stakeholders (e.g. customer, supplier, partner).
  • Supports all business-critical forums where Change is a consideration – providing support and resolution to any questions that are raised
  • Closely liaises with Services Teams to ensure transition/hand over of Modifications for implementation on delivered units.
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.


Qualifications & Functional Knowledge:

  • Graduate of University Degree in any of Engineering / Project Management / Business Management or equivalent
  • Profound understanding of Configuration & Change Management and how its related processes such as Requirements Management, Data Management and Document Control inter-relate with the Business Processes
  • Experience in one or more of the key cross functional roles relevant to the Process: Business Process Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Supply Chain, Engineering and Industrialization
  • Experiences in leading a multi-functional team in a project delivery environment


Good to have:

  • Professional Project Management Qualification (PRINCE2, APM, PMP etc.)
