Tren Maya – Maintenance Site Lead Engineer RS
Purpose of the job:
In the context of Tren Maya project, ALSTOM is offering high level of Maintenance Service of the Rolling Stock, Track systems (Signaling & Communication) and Maintenance facilities. Skilled personal is deployed over all Yucatán peninsula to support these activities.
The Maintenance Site Lead Engineer RS, present in every main workshop, has a key role in this organization :
- First and main interlocutor of the local staff undertaking the maintenance activities (maintenance supervisors, team leaders and technicians), in order to answer any question : clarify work instructions, look for missing part number, support troubleshooting, confirm inspection result…
- Daily coaching of the local staff for the good realization of their job,
- Occasionally technical training of the local staff, within his/her scope of training certification and competency.
The mission of the Maintenance Site Lead Engineer RS is mainly focused on the maintenance of the rolling stock, but may support also the maintenance of track systems and depot equipment.
She / He has a very good knowledge of the train product, and has an extensive access to design and maintenance information. She / He is fully trained according to Alstom processes related to Railways Safety, and knows & promotes on the maintenance site the process to make decisions involving safety aspects. She / He counts with the experience of previous maintenance projects, and capitalizes this knowledge making it benefit to the site team.

Key accountabilities:
- Supports the Project Engineering team to ensure that the correct technical governance is being applied (e.g. suitable design and expert input, defining and enforcing architecture/métier standards, methodologies, processes, tools and solution frameworks against which programs and projects can deliver) – focusing on railways safety.
- Supports Production Maintenance Supervisor to solve technical difficulties during maintenance tasks, preventive and corrective.
- Handles the process of decision related to technical issues for the maintenance activities on the site, especially : acceptable/not acceptable defects present on the train, and “good to go / ko” from service availability point of view. This does not mean that the Site Lead Engineer knows everything, but that He/She knows how to find the right information to make the right decisions !
- Occasionally provides technical training, within his/her scope of training certification and competency.

OTD, PMC, Project reliability / availability / cost targets
Educational Requirements :
University degree in Railway Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Automation Engineering or Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Mandatory:
- 5-10 years of experience in the maintenance of Railways systems
- Knowledge of rolling stock equipment
- Graduated from a STEM university-type course
Desirable:
- Knowledge of rolling stock maintenance
- Certification in System Engineering
- Member of an appropriate Engineering Institution
- Experience in similar positions
- Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, SAP,

Working conditons
- The position is based in Mérida / YUC
- Frequent 1-2 days trips to the attached garage yards of Mérida / YUC, Campeche / CAMP, Tulum / QROO, Escarcega / CAMP, Cancun / QROO or Train Maya stations (eg: PALENQUE, CHP)
- Occasionally trips to other Alstom facilities or suppliers´
Alternating work on different shifts (always with due resting time)
