Could you be the full-time System Safety Specialist Supervisor in Camden, NJ we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your safety expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Bruce Browne (General Manager), and work alongside exceptional, enthusiastic and collaborative teammates.

You'll be creating great value as you bring your safety knowledge and expertise to ensure our Camden facility/operations adheres to the strong safety culture/environment and standards that we have company wide.

You’ll specifically lead the application of management and engineering principles, criteria and techniques to optimize all aspects of safety within the constraints of operational effectiveness, time and cost throughout all phases of system life cycle.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Investigate accidents & major incidents to determine root causes.
  • Perform quantitative risk analysis and engineering analysis including fault tree & failure modes & effects analysis regarding safety critical systems & systems safety critical interfaces. Leads the safety certification process for new or changing safety critical systems/infrastructure.
  • Perform qualitative hazard analysis & risk assessments of operating conditions. Identify residual risks associated with River LINE operations or equipment and recommends mitigation methods. Work closely with management to design out risks and verify the effectiveness of the program.
  • Act as the Liaison with The Federal Railroad Administration, The Federal Transit Administration, OSHA, and The State Safety Oversight Agency (NJDOT).  Leads Employee and System Safety Committee meetings.
  • Develop and conduct safety training programs
  • Upadting safety metrics

 

 

All about you

  • BS in Industrial Relations, Hygiene, Environment, Business Administration or related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Must have at least 3 years of hands on System Safety experience, or hands on Engineering experience dealing with safety critical systems.
  • Railroad experience is strongly preferred. Bus or other transit industry experience may be considered.
  • Familiarity with FRA rules and regulations.
  • Should have strong OSHA background
