Could you be the full-time Signalling Installation Design Leader in Cairo we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality signalling solutions that ensure safe and efficient railway systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as signalling interlocking, V&V, installation, and testing & commissioning teams), support the preparation of installation documents, Bill of Materials (BOM), and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of designing installation engineering drawings, including cable plans and wiring diagrams, method statement, general installation drawings,  but also contribute to analysing requirements and managing design change requests.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Lead to prepare and execute IE activities (Drawings, documentation, specification, Work Method Statement, …) in support of one or several Bids / Projects
  • Ensure the deliverables are prepared in in accordance with the project execution requirements: customer, installation subcontractor, local regulation, …
  • Support to Field team (Installation Supervisors, Sig Project Site Managers, Sig Installation team Leaders, etc…) to understand and review the deliverables and prepare design modification or change requests following inputs from site
  • Review the Civil interface drawings (e.g. Station building drawings, track layout drawings, ...) and provide Sig equipment requirement for space allocation & applicable cable trunking
  • Lead to prepare Installation material specifications & Installation BoQ
  • Support the PrYM/PrSOM/PrFOM/Project Site Manager during the preparation of the Field quality dossier for Handover
  • Lead to prepare as-built documentation and ensures conformity with as-installed configuration
  • Perform Site Surveys during preparation and execution phase (if necessary)
  • Liaise with BIM Coordinators and BIM Modelers to coordinate common IE studies and deliverables
  • Ensure application of D&IS Installation and FO Process for IE activities
  • Continuous improvement:
    • Contribute to best practices definition and REX within the Product Line
    • Participate to Process / “Metier” improvement workgroup when requested, to propose update/improvement of the IE way of working, process, tools and RefLib
    • Report anomalies versus the reference library and / or the local standard and propose any improvement or evolution

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good experience on railway signalling 
  • Good Knowledge of railway systems and signalling equipment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in design, drafting or engineering (Project and/or construction experience appreciated).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience in designing electrical diagrams, such as scheme plans, cable plans, wiring diagrams, signaling equipment rooms layout, etc 
  • Experience in creating MEP detailed drawings.
  • Minimum knowledge of BIM procedures and tools.
  • Fluent in English
  • Self-motivated with a passion for technical matters and a quick learner
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Quality-focused, rigorous approach to work
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • No restrictions to travel
  • Hiring with local contract in Egypt
