OPC Filed Engineer
is responsible for ensuring in a safely and timely fashion that all OPC installation works for his site front are conducted in accordance with the OPC Process, project schedule and approved procedures. This is to include ensuring the proper & smooth access and handing over process allowing all stakeholder to execute their predefined tasks within the pre-set time frame
Responsibilities
- Ensures that all required OPC related installation drawings and instruction changes (including modifications) are adequately recorded, reported and approved
- Enforces the identification of the MEP/Civil works as installed configuration, non-conformities, defects, and workmanship issues
- Ensures at all time a smooth coordination between the Civil/MEP installation contractors
- Identifies which documents and inputs are required to be received from Engineering
- Performs surveys and support field prototypes
- Supervises installation and installation inspection (PICO)
- Acts as support for installers with regards to installation matters
- Reviews installation reports created by installers and discuss with their team Leaders
- Reports NCRs whenever is necessary
- Reports installation progress to OPC Depot Manager
- Ensure all installation data is adequately recorded in Alstom designated tools (e.g.: Maximo)
- Ensures work is carried out according to local site rules and is accountable for the safety of the field team
- Supports all weekly schedule planning and tracking all OPC installation field works
- Conducts a pre-work safety brief and a post work debrief/report
- Ensures team members have the proper credentials, training, and supervision for the intended works
- Supports HSE team representatives on implementing and enforcing HSE requirements on site
Job requirement:
- Engineering degree
- 5 years of experience as installation supervisor/coordinator
- Rail installation knowledge required, MEP awareness would be advantageous
- Experience in LV/MV Electrical installations is required
- Very strong coordination skills mandatory
- Able to solve conflicts between different installers and suggest solutions
- Strong communication and diplomacy skills and ability to guide, influence and convince others
- Fluent in Arabic and a good command English language
