Could you be the full-time O&M Sr. Operations Planner Engineer in Cairo we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your operational planning and analytical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.

You'll play a key role in optimizing train operations and ensuring smooth service delivery. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Control Centre, Passenger Service personnel, and contractors), analyze operational data, and prepare detailed operating schedules for normal and special event operations.

You’ll specifically take care of creating and updating train schedules, analyzing ridership data, and preparing operational procedures, but also developing programs to measure performance metrics and service reliability.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Reviewing ridership data and determining optimum operating plans and schedules

  • Preparing detailed operating schedules for regular and special event operations

  • Coordinating with Control Centre and Passenger Service teams to evaluate and modify schedules

  • Developing and maintaining operating procedures and manuals

  • Analyzing passenger loading to determine peak-period train headway scheduling

  • Preparing monthly reports on service operations, including anomalies and their rationale

  • Producing public notices for holiday or special service operations

  • Reviewing and analyzing automatic train control (ATC) system anomalies and recommending corrective actions

  • Calculating and evaluating daily, weekly, and monthly train availability

  • Providing statistical analysis to improve service quality

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in railway operations, preferably in automated or driverless systems

  • Fluency in Arabic and proficiency in English (written and spoken)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and training abilities

  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Experience in preparing and analyzing operational procedures and statistical reports

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with innovative technologies and systems for automated rail operations

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility

  • Utilise our inclusive and flexible working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning opportunities

  • Progress towards senior leadership roles in operations or other fields

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
