SUMMARY:        

Overall responsibility and accountability for the success of Operations & Maintenance of the Monorail system.            

Primary representative of Alstom to the customer, and community demonstrating the highest level of ethical professionalism                

              

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:          

Profitability - Achieve revenue and profitability objectives. Measure and evaluate O&M departments to ensure customer satisfaction  and contractual availability of the system.            

              

Organization- Build, lead and develop an effective organization, by communicating key objectives and priorities, that values safety and security as our #1 priority in operating and maintaining the system.              

              

Quality & Business Effectiveness- Applies appropriate criteria to business issues situations for the purpose of making  decisions that  affect the quality and effectiveness of sites staff and processes.            

Interactions-Builds positive relationships with customer executives and employees. Maintains a positive and effective organizational atmosphere and raises the expectation of high performance to challenge the staff.  Establishes a positive image and relationship with the surrounding community.           

 Leadership-Creates a challenging and motivating O&M work environment by communicating and supporting Alstom policies, Core Values, Code of Ethics and Corporate Policy                       

Safety Culture –Understands the importance of creating a true safety culture and sets the tone at the Site. Complies with established          

safety policies and understands the value of creating a safety culture. Solicits support of Managers/Supervisors to facilitate & embed a true safety culture.     

Stakeholder Management- Understands the develop relationship with other stakeholders to effective deliver the Objective of O&M of Cairo Monorail system             

              

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:             

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the O&M organization. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this organization.  Also directly manages non-supervisory personnel. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with Alstom’s Core Values and Leadership Attributes, Company policies and any applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning & directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.       

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ten years’ recent experience as a high-level supervisor/manager of a rapid transit maintenance function is preferred and two of which have been with the company.  
  • Must comprehend basic principles of business practice; mechanical, electrical, electronic hydraulic and pneumatic systems; basic knowledge of the applicable company transit system and its technology.  
  • Must have sound and basic interpersonal and administrative skills.  Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to plans and procedures collective agreements;
  • Ability to lead and manage all the diverse maintenance personnel and functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain a rapport with employees and other personnel and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with others.
