Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your software development expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and innovative team of professionals.

You'll help shape the future of our EBI Screen 2000 platform by designing, developing, and maintaining its microservices-based components. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including program managers, QA experts, DevOps engineers, and architects, in an Agile/Scrum environment. You’ll also contribute to architectural decisions, optimize performance, and ensure the reliability and scalability of our solutions.

You’ll specifically take care of developing backend services and APIs with server-side languages and building responsive user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks, but also containerizing applications and orchestrating deployments on RKE2 Kubernetes.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining microservices-based components of the EBI Screen 2000 platform

  • Implementing backend services and APIs with scalability, reliability, and security in mind

  • Building responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks

  • Developing and maintaining automated test suites using Robot Framework to ensure high product quality

  • Containerizing applications with Docker and deploying on RKE2 Kubernetes

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment

  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices

  • Participating in code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and incident resolution

  • Contributing to architectural decisions, technical documentation, and continuous improvement of the CI/CD pipeline

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

  • 2-5 years of professional full-stack software development experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python and at least two of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Java, or Go

  • Optional hands-on experience with Angular (or similar modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks) for building dynamic frontend applications

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining applications in a microservices architecture

  • Practical knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration with Kubernetes, specifically RKE2 or similar distributions

  • Experience with Robot Framework for test automation (writing keyword-driven tests, integrating with CI/CD, and maintaining test libraries)

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, gRPC, message queues (e.g., Kafka, Artemis), and relational/no-SQL databases

  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.), and cloud platforms (Azure)

  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm) and monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) is a plus

  • Understanding of security best practices, performance tuning, and distributed systems challenges

  • Experience in Rail Control Solutions – ATS and SCADA or enterprise-scale applications is a plus

  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub/portfolio demonstrating relevant work are advantageous

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects that make a real impact

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment
