Main Responsibilities:

 

In compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards, he/she executes the IE BIM models and drawings, in coordination with the BIM Manager and BIM Coordinator, including:

  • Produce the engineering drawings of the execution design, which can be, depending on the system / subsystem level:
    • Signaling Scheme Plan including the outdoor cable layout
    • Track insulation and bonding plans; details of the rail polarity and cable arrangement / insulated joint of the track circuit
    • Application Drawings
  • Produce the deliverables under the responsibility of CAD/BIM Coordinator:
    • Use dedicated tools, procedures, and templates for design development of BIM models.
    • Prepare models and drawings packages for submission.
    • Prepare reports and schedules for internal use (exports from Revit).
  • Contribute to prepare the design under the responsibility of the System BIM Manager and/or Sig BIM Coordinator.
    • Produce drawings and BIM models consistent with instruction, guidelines, and CAD/BIM standards.
    • Generate BIM models with dedicated tools (Revit MEP).
    • Draft/generate plans, diagrams, and schedule in Revit and/or AutoCAD drawings.
  • Support the BIM Manager and/or Sig BIM Coordinator in the completion of Subsystem Component Library,
  • Assist the BIM Coordinator in checking the deliverables as part of the Sig / System technical validation
  • Provide design assistance to IE Designers and Engineers
  • Attend training sessions set up at team level and project level
  • Ensure application of D&IS Installation and FO Process for IE activities
  • Support the designers for the Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Apply reference processes methods and tools.

 

Performance measurements:

 

  • Assist the installation design leader / BIM Coordinator in keeping up to date the list of BIM models and their status
  • Contribute the enforcement of good practices within the design team
  • Assist the Design BIM Coordinator in reporting of design development to the BIM Manager

 

Main Required Competences

 

Mandatory

  • Bachelor’s degree in designing or engineering or equivalent education.

 

Desirable:

  • BIM and/or AutoCAD Certification
  • Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and ProjectWise
  • Knowledge of Inventor or SolidWorks

 

Experience

 

Mandatory:

  • 3+ year's production experience in design, drafting or engineering (Project and/or construction experience appreciated).
  • Must have Knowledge of civil and/or mechanical and/or electrical design, System/Sub System design experience is appreciated.
  • Must have In-depth working knowledge of Revit MEP and AutoCAD. Basic knowledge in Bentley solutions is also requested. Familiarity with Navigator and NavisWorks is appreciated to ensure adequate communication with project teams (BIM Managers, coordinators and Design teams),
  • Thorough comprehension of parametric object-based models, design, engineering/construction models

 

Desirable:

  • EHS background
  • Basic knowledge of Railway products and services knowledge on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M)

Language Skills:

  • Good command of Arabic and English (written/ spoken). French is an advantage.
