The Site Controller position, reporting direct to Country Finance Director will as a responsibility have:

Ensures the economic and financial management of the project, supporting the Site Controller and Project Manager, following company procedures and ensuring risks and opportunities are managed to optimise the project financial targets;

Organise, manage, coordinate the financial activities of a reporting unit or a grouping of locations


Specific responsibilities of the role:

Financial Management and Controlling

  • Responsible for providing accurate transparent information, support and performance enablers to the CFD and countries’ (Ro & Bg) management team
  • Monitor and forecast the QCD financial indicators of the sites concerned:
    • Signalling activities in the Bulgarian branch, including consortium aspects - in close cooperation with Signalling Site controller
    • Romanian Signalling Onboard hub coordination from finance point of view - in close cooperation with Signalling Site controller
  • Support for sites on Bonga/Bonds, particular area in Romania re. bonds issued as insurances, their follow up and ad-hoc situations (in close work with contract management and bids’/projects’ teams)
  • Support on Capex, Stocks & Hard Inventories - common view from finance point of view, in cooperation with Services and Signalling Site controllers and other teams
  • Local support for bids teams (by destination Romania & Bulgaria) and also to the cluster FTM (finance tender manager)
  • Challenge and give some insight for risks or variance analyses to CFD and countries’ management - as required in cooperation with Services and Signalling Site controllers
  • Provide to business management financial support backed by consolidated data and analysis - in close cooperation with reporting team and Site controllers
  • Provide necessary analysis and assistance to the central management control team - as and when required
  • Work at actual, forecast and budget levels - as required in cooperation with Services and Signalling Site controllers, with Reporting team and with CFD
  • Develop Action plans in order to optimise performance and implement corrective actions - as required in cooperation with Services and Signalling Site controllers
  • Follow capacity extension/reduction plans if any, along with CFD
  • Support, assess and review countries’ budget, 3 Year Plan, Rolling Forecast, Reporting - as required, in support to CFD

​​​​​​​Reporting and coordination

  • Set the environment to collect, consolidate, analyse and validate financial data in order to produce actual budget and forecasts, along with reporting team; draw conclusions on variances of resource allocation and recommend corrective action, along the CFD
  • Validate the financial structure of the locations (processes and systems) in order to satisfy all internal and external requirements - in cooperation with Services and Signalling Site controllers and CFD
  • Comply with the reporting definitions of Alstom guidelines in order to provide consistent and informative management information and ensure compliance with Internal Control
  • Interface with regional controller, Cluster FD and other finance teams from operations side to report and cascade information

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree in Finance, Master Degree
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant finance experience
  • External Audit, Site Control or Project Control experience
  • Fluent in English, additional language a plus
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • SAP knowledge represents an advantage
