Could you be the full-time HW Indoor Outdoor Design Engineer in Bucharest we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your hardware design expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, adaptable, and forward-thinking teammates.

You'll play a key role in designing hardware solutions for Central and East Europe Projects, contributing to the advancement of railway signalling systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Project Managers, Technical Leads, Safety, Installation, and Test & Commissioning teams), perform testing, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of designing and implementing hardware solutions for ERTMS sub-systems (IXL, ETCS), but also verifying and organizing technical documentation for approval.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Designing, adapting, and standardizing hardware solutions for ERTMS sub-systems to meet predefined requirements.
  • Performing indoor and outdoor design for railway signalling systems.
  • Verifying and correcting documents received from design suppliers.
  • Organizing and sending technical documentation for approval related to hardware design.
  • Elaborating sub-system specifications for ERTMS and contributing to system architecture in collaboration with the system architect.
  • Providing support to system design teams, telecom, T&C, and V&V teams.
  • Engaging in tender support activities.
  • Preparing bills of quantities for equipment and materials.
  • Designing and developing hardware system modules for specific software applications.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • University degree in Engineering (Transportation Systems, Electronics, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge or experience in railway signalling or other safety-critical systems.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Proficiency in English (medium/advanced level).
  • Knowledge of French or Italian is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office tools.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.
  • Work with new safety and security standards for rail traffic management.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects.

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
