Could you be the full-time V&V (Verification & Validation) Department Head in Bucharest we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership and technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the vision of the V&V Métier, driving continuous improvement in performance and productivity. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, project management, HR), oversee team development and project execution, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation.

You’ll specifically take care of defining and implementing the V&V engineering vision, but also building and motivating a high-performing team.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • Defining and implementing the V&V engineering vision, including team profiles, skills, and discipline evolution
  • Setting clear team goals, delegating tasks, and establishing deadlines
  • Providing support for project and program execution
  • Promoting Alstom values and fostering a positive team culture
  • Motivating, evaluating, and developing team members through training and performance management
  • Recognizing high performance and rewarding accomplishments
  • Developing World Class Engineering (WCE) Experts
  • Ensuring the deployment and improvement of processes, methods, and tools
  • Collaborating with the Reference Library Manager to maintain and enhance the Reference Library
  • Fostering the collection and sharing of lessons learned (REX) from project/program execution
  • Reviewing workload forecasts and ensuring adequate staffing for projects, bids, and programs
  • Participating in tender design and documentation reviews
  • Committing to Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives related to the V&V Métier

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or scientific topics is desirable
  • Additional training in management or team leadership is an asset
  • Experience in complex development environments (railways, automotive, aerospace, etc.)
  • Strong background in engineering processes
  • Experience in project/program execution and management
  • Understanding of execution effort estimation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including teamwork and leadership
  • Open-minded and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Decision-making ability coupled with analytical and critical thinking
  • Proficiency in English
  • Problem-solving skills and resilience
