For its branch in Bruges, Alstom is looking for a  Line Manager (M/F) 


A driven, floor-oriented and motivating hands on people manager with a passion for quality, technology and efficiency.



  • You are responsible for managing the daily activities. Together with the workshop superiors and team coordinators, you coordinate a team of about 70 production employees with whom you realize the daily production objectives.
  • You support, guide and coach, provide the necessary structure and a good atmosphere.
  • With specific attention to quality, efficiency and safety, you are responsible for monitoring the production process via KPIs and targets and you make adjustments in terms of planning, people and resources.
  • As a natural leader, you push the cart. You regularly and informally discuss what is going on in the workplace.
  • You have an eye for optimizations and take initiatives to introduce concrete improvement projects.
  • You work together with other production-related services method, quality and supply chain.
  • You get the necessary autonomy and report directly to the Manufacturing Manager



  • At least a technical education (master or bachelor).
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant and managerial experience within a production environment (knowledge in line production / automotive, manual labor oriented production environment).
  • You are a strong people manager and testify to a people-oriented approach. You know how to motivate and coach your team. With your frequent presence on the floor, you know what's going on with your people.
  • With a pragmatic  and  empathetic attitude and approach, you deal with your team and colleagues. You generate impact and respect.
  • You are a good organizer who works things out in a structured way and follows them up briefly. You are able to keep an overview. You know how to switch quickly and tackle things stress-resistant and flexible. You think and act in a solution-oriented way. You show a broad commitment to the organization and steer optimizations to an operational-pragmatic level. Knowledge of Lean is an asset.
  • You are a hands-on and no-nonsense problem solver with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • You have a fluent knowledge of Dutch and English. (French is a plus point).
