Purpose of the job:

The role holder will be responsible for the the timely and accurate delivery (based on service level agreements) of payroll and reporting to both the business and external authorities, in the country under their responsibility. They are responsible for ensuring the payroll vendor operations team, for their responsible country,  delivers services in accordance with the terms of the contract and service level agreements.

This role requires actively working with and contributing to the other functions within HR Operations and CoE to ensure delivery of a legally compliant payroll in accordance with country, local and business laws and policies. Responsible for ensuring HRO Payroll Advisors & Specialists remain updated with required country knowledge.

The Country Payroll Expert will actively encourage and support the use of LEAN tools to develop continuous improvement mind set within the team.

The role holder will have in-depth knowledge of the payroll legislation of the country for which they are responsible.

Role holder will be the main day to day contact for all complex payroll queries

 

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide 1st line support for resolving complex payroll specific queries (Level 3) within defined SLAs and support Payroll Specialists in resolving standard payroll specific queries as needed.
  • Manage and approve change requests identified by Level 2 Payroll team members ensuring ongoing policy and business process changes are reflected in the payroll solution.
  • Co-ordinate delivery of country specific payroll related processes throughout the year (i.e. year-end salary change, bonus, year-end reconciliations, etc.)
  • Proactively identify processing issues and areas for process improvement.  Propose and implement solutions to address issues or areas for improvement. Actively encourage the team to utilize LEAN processes and tools to implement the identified process improvements.
  • Manage 3rd Party provider in relation to implementation of legislative changes, to ensure correct implementation.
  • Escalation point for issues related to 3rd party interfaces i.e. 3rd party benefits providers, social security agencies etc
  • Responsible for ensuring payroll compliance to legislation and business policies.
  • Ensure all payroll related processes are compliant with relevant internal and external audit requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, global payroll rules.
  • Produce Country payroll data reports and KPIs
  • Take ownership for personal development and understanding of team activities

 

Performance measurements: (OTD, QCD, Sales, PMC, Orders, Gross margin, etc.)

  • Responsible for Payroll On time delivery according to monthly schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining Payroll accuracy 99,6% as a minimum

 

 

Educational Requirements  

Mandatory:

Degree Level in relevant subject (e.g. Finance, Economics) or relevant experience

 

 

Experience

Mandatory:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Payroll processing for a significant number of employees (More than 500).
  • Experienced in Excel
  • In-depth experience in country legislation related to payroll
