We are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager (m/f/d) in Braunschweig / Berlin, Germany

 

Your role:

  • Drive the execution of the project, according to contractual requirements and customer expectations (summarized in contract charter), to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with Alstom project management and execution processes
  • Be accountable for project QCDP and project EHS
  • Ensure Alstom’s legal and contractual rights are protected
  • Seek and propose to the Customer Director/Platform additional opportunities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for project QCDP performance and optimize Project Financial performance (Margin & Cash)
  • As WP Owner of the Project Management Work Package, You are QCDP accountable for all the activities of Your WP
  • The focus of this role would be to manage the risk & opportunity process and Project Cash Management of the entire D&IS Wayside & Infrastructure project portfolio.
  • Govern the adherence to Alstom’s best practice and risk & opportunity standards within D&IS Wayside & Infrastructure
  • Maintain the Ody. C files of the Wayside & Infrastructure in the Risk & Opportunity section of the tool
  • Manage the transition of Risk & Opportunity Management from the situation today towards PM 2020
  • Be responsible for the project governance with a special focus on the Risk, Opportunity, and Savings and Project Cash Management for the entire Wayside & Infrastructure Project Portfolio. Act as the Process Owner for D&IS Wayside and Infrastructure project portfolio for the Risk, Opportunity and Savings Process. Define project strategy in line with contract requirements especially vis-à-vis our subcontractors, including PMP elaboration and objectives allocation to Sub-Systems (planning, cost, quality, performance)
  • Lead and coordinate project activities and stakeholders from transfer to close-out
  • Proper transfer from tender to project. Ensure a proper Risk register is created during the tender phase
  • Definition of Project objectives and main drivers (product/service performance, planning) to achieve customer satisfaction within the frame of the Contract
  • Define in advance project core team staffing, as well as his/her WP resources and identify any staffing risks
  • Escalate when project resources available do not match the project needs and create mitigation plans with the Management of D&IS Wayside & Infrastructure
  • Team leading, including Core Team and when applicable. Act as a Deputy of a Project Director in case of absence
  • Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned toward project/goals, especially in terms of Risk & Opportunity Management
  • Engage project teams in the achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them
  • Synchronize internal partners and arbitrate when necessary
  • Alignment with contractual requirements and management of variation orders
  • Support the team in identifying, managing or mitigating any risk or opportunity related to Q, C, D, P re-baselining or changes at the project level
  • Manage claims and litigations if needed in close cooperation with the Commercial Manager of Wayside & Infrastructure and the Configuration Project Manager of D&IS Wayside & Infrastructure
  • Pro-active risk, saving and opportunity management within the scope of the role
  • Management of the project progress and its KPIs, and reports to senior management, with transparency during the business/critical project reviews. You are the representative of the risk exposure of the entire project portfolio of D&IS Wayside toward Alstom management
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual
  • Manage customer and external stakeholders’ relationship
  • Continuously ensuring alignment with customer contractual requirements
  • Alstom representative towards Customers and when applicable external stakeholders (Consortium, JV)
  • Ensuring contract management and variation orders toward customer
  • Performance measurements:  
  • Project Performance Indicator (PPI)
  • Gate review Go on time/OTD- GR
  • Cash-in
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • EHS when applicable
  • Applicable Risk and Savings KPIs

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent business experience
  • 5 years experience as sub-system/component manager or qualified project manager or manager of risks & opportunities in project
  • Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures
  • Project management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Team management (capacity to coordinate and ensure collaboration of multi-site/multi-metier teams)
  • Leadership, entrepreneurship mindset and result oriented
  • Good Knowledge of Project management processes especially Risks & Opportunities
  • Knowledge of railway products and systems
  • Ability to manage customer relationship
  • Negotiation skills
  • Fluent German and English are a must
