Project Controller (m/f/d) for our location in Braunschweig, Germany

 

We are currently looking to recruit a Project Controller for our team located in Braunschweig Germany

 

As a Project Controller you need to provide accurate and timely financial Information while ensuring strong and effective controls are in place.

You are going to be the navigator of the project managers to ensure focus on the achievement of the project financial goals.

In this role you need to secure governance and integrity in all financial reporting of the projects.

You are required to have strong communication and influencing skills in order to effectively drive the project core teams to achieve the financial deliverables of the project whilst maintaining the effective controls required.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Financials & Compliance

 

  • Responsible for the integrity of the project financial information; ensuring quality and timely information is delivered in line with expectations.
  • Monitoring all project costs and addressing variances for all business units, recommending possible courses of action to remedy situations.
  • Responsible for the budgeting and forecasting activity of all aspects of the projects.
  • Ensure that project calculations reflect current estimates at completion.
  • Challenge the project core teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Recommend possible courses of action to mitigate risk or to achieve opportunities.
  • Contribute in risks and opportunities, discussions and challenge project inputs.
  • Review and challenge cash planning (incl. action plans & follow up).
  • Prepare and update monthly reports and presentations in project review meetings.
  • Follow-up hedging & bonds requirements for the projects.
  • Responsible for coordinating the long-term functional forecasts and estimate at completion of projects.
  • Ensure standard global processes are consistently and effectively applied to the projects in all areas of financial governance.
  • Ensure proper start-up of new projects (Bid handover, financial set-up...).

 

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Be a business partner for the project managers and the project core team members. Attend project core team meetings and all relevant project meetings.
  • Make the financial situation transparent to project management. Ensure development & deployment of corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Regularly review and react to stakeholder feedback/input with the project controlling team.
  • Keep project management continuously updated on the financial situation of the entire project and upcoming risks and opportunities. Ensure financial transparency within the project core team.
  • Coordinate and follow-up all financial matters with internal partners (incl. Interco. matching process).
  • Interface and liaise with customer finance organization.
  • Follow-up on customer invoicing and ensure timely collection of invoices. Take all necessary actions to limit overdue on account receivables.

 

 

Key requirements/Qualifications:

 

  • BSC Degree in Finance or any relevant professional related qualification.
  • At least 4 years of working experience.
  • Experience in a similar role, working in an international environment.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, complemented by knowledge of SAP ERP systems & SAP/BW.
  • Good understanding of Finance/Controlling processes and tools.
  • Specialized or cross-functional knowledge.
  • Desired competences: entrepreneurial thinking, staying focussed, dedication, communication, drive for results, building partnerships.
  • Fluent in German and English incl. good communication skills.
