Could you be the Head of Projects DSTW (f/m/d) based in Braunschweig we’re looking for?

Your Future Role

In this key role, you will assume overall responsibility for the successful realisation of complex projects in terms of quality, costs, deadlines and performance (QCDP). You will manage the project strategy in line with contractual requirements and ensure the economic achievement of targets (margin & cash).

Your tasks:

  • Overall responsibility for project performance and financial success
  • Definition and implementation of the project strategy including planning, costs, quality and PM performance
  • Leading and managing interdisciplinary project teams and external partners
  • Ensuring a smooth project process from handover to completion
  • Proactive risk, opportunity and claim management
  • Management of resources and escalation in the event of bottlenecks
  • Transparent project reporting to top management
  • Ensuring adherence to standards (EHS, compliance, quality, PM processes)
  • Active management of customer and stakeholder relationships incl. contract and change management

Competences & skills:

  • Master Degree
  • Track record and several years of experience in project management in the railway sector (Infrastructure, General Contractor Projects including civil works)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in leading and coordinating cross-divisional and cross-location teams
  • Strong leadership skills, entrepreneurial thinking and a clear focus on results
  • Very good understanding of project management processes
  • Good knowledge of railway technology, products and systems
  • Experience in conflict and crisis management
  • Knowledge of construction and project execution management (construction sites & services)
  • Ability to professionally manage customer relationships
  • Very good negotiation skills
  • Confident handling of complex project structures
  • Ability to operate confidently in a political environment
  • Fluency in English and German is required
