Purpose of the Job/Objective

  • Carry out the test of trains in accordance with the testing procedure and as per the delivery schedule at customer site.


Role & Responsabilities

  • Understand in detail the Acceptance Criteria of the customer for the Project/Product.
  • Participate in the re-coupling of trains consist and performing non-regression re-coupling criteria   

  • Ability to use a laptop for diagnostic, fault-finding and rectification purposes.

  • Provide pre departure inspection validation of equipment operations, raising issues prior to any dynamic test.

  • Set up test equipment for dynamic test and burn-in, record date and provide diagnosis of fault failures  / performance.
  • Respect with rigour the test procedures.
  • Diagnosis of electrical and mechanical performance to provide REX in testing. 
  • Ability to identifiy issues and bypass on dynamic and burn-in, run ( minor issues and major issues idenfied ).
  • Operate relevant mechanical & electrical plant / equipment as required.
  • Propose improvement of the process.
  • Work in a team spirit with transparency with their shift and the other shift.
  • Ensure Interface and perfect working relationship with : Test Engineering Technician, Industrial Quality.
  • Escalate any non up-to-date testing tools.
  • Should be aware of their KPI’s and and performance on the repective KPI’s.
  • Complies with EHS procedures.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health. 
  • Reports Deviations, Near-misses and Accidents.
  • Flexibility to accommodate shifts patterns is required.


Background  /profile

  • Electrotechnical training and/or experience. Bachelor in this domain appreciated.
  • Experience in Rolling stock test and commissioning appreciated.
  • Hands on position with technicial expertise required.



  • Must feel comfortable with computers, IT tools and new information technologies
