PURPOSE: 

Serves as the site afternoon shift supervisor on duty and oversees all operations, in the warehouse, from receiving to assembly line deliveries including moves to and from storage locations, picking, daily counts and materials moves to production  In addition the PM shift supervisor will be the lead on site for all activities taking place during the shift hours and will be responsible to ensure proper closing of the facility. 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Must be able to supervise an indirect staff of up to 15 individuals, on a 5 x 8hr afternoon shifts Monday to Friday.  Hours may vary depending on site requirements.
  • Manage a direct team 2-3 responsible for line moves.
  • Ensure Alstom Health and Safety procedures and processes are complied with for all activities and be the first point of contact for all EHSA items that arise during the shift.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists hourly staff in solving work problems.
  • When required assist with receiving: Validate material receipt and perform inbound put-away.
  • Oversee the completion of the daily production duties and additional tasks that was assigned by the Production or Testing Manager.
  • Leads or participates in establishing train move schedules with Production and Supply Chain to ensure alignment with daily and/or weekly objective.
  • When required support picking and kitting of material to meet production demands.
  • Deliver material to the Production Line as required and on time.
  • Actively participate in good house-keeping responsibilities – Removal of waste from production line and warehouse into appropriate waste bin locations.
  • Participate in inventory counting and validation (cycle count or wall to wall) when assigned.
  • Provide daily updates on shift activities and ensure daily team goals are met.
  • Ensure the proper procedure of lifting and moving heavy parts using an overhead crane
  • Operate and assist in train moving equipment to perform production line moving activities.
  • Demonstrate a solution focused attitude and exemplify company core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Report daily on status of shift activities.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required/ Post Secondary Education/Diploma preferred

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Warehouse Operations – Shipping/Receiving, Picking, Material Handling.
  • 2-3 years’ Supervision experience
  • Counterbalance and Reach Truck Certification
  • Forklift License Permit
  • Overhead Crane certified - experience moving operating an crane
  • Excellent computer skills and worked with ERP systems
  • IR scanner experience
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 40lbs and work on foot.  May be required to stand for a few hours.  Repetitive movements
