Responsibilities and Accountabilities
In the context of Next Generation High Speed Trains project, ALSTOM is offering high level of Maintenance Service to AMTRAK operator, under the form of TSSSA contract (Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement). Each sub-system of the train is allocated to a “Leader” System Engineer (SE) who has the global responsibility of it, that is :
Managing technical subjects related to Train design, in particular :
Managing all technical subjects related to Maintenance, in particular:
Monitoring system performance, in particular: Safety, Reliability, Serviceability.
Providing technical inputs to all Maintenance Site organization :
Monitoring obsolescence and develop resolution plan for subsystems in charge Optimizing testability on-train (as a team with Troubleshooters) and off-train (in collaboration with external vendors and Alstom repair centers)
Position in Alstom organization : - No direct reports ; - Multiple functional relations ; - Reporting functionally and hierarchically to the TSSSA Project Engineering Manager

Candidate Requirements |

Educational Requirements Graduated 4 years Engineering degree.
|
||||||||||||||||||||
Experience (Essential Functions) Minimum 2 years working “hands on” around on-board equipment: design, validation, troubleshooting, maintenance. Ideally in the environment of Rolling Stock warranty and reliability growth.

Working Conditions (Industrial/Environmental) The position is based in New York, NY (Sunny Side Amtrak facility) Average travel 20% time, especially on the other train maintenance facilities of Washington DC and Boston MA.

Physical/Mental Requirements Technical curiosity, motivation to learn. Autonomy, self-organization Resilience. Focus on objectives. Capacity of Synthesis and Analysis. Desirable: Good Communication skills.
