The job of Head of Operations and Components Repair & Overhaul -Services North America manages the overall  operations activities and CRO activities on a site, in a country, in a cluster, a region or platform such as validation support, overhaul & warranty with the objective to minimize and to improve operations cost base and is accountable for strategic development within the operations, industrial, and CRO perimeter including up-sell identification

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage all operations activities and CRO activities & resources (overhaul, validation support and warranty) for all projects and sites in its region/cluster/country/site or platform.
  • Multi-Regional Center Performance (Transfer of Competencies, Methods and Tools)
  • Manage tenders/bids related to operations, industrial, and CRO scope (for all allocated projects whether origin or destination)
  • Manage and approve Quality Cost Delivery (QCD) budget commitment for operations, industrial, & CRO scope for the site/country/cluster/region/platform at tender and execution phase
  • Lead the initiative for operations, industrial, and CRO cost optimization & recovery of non-core costs through continuous improvement and insourcing/make plans
  • Ensure adequate supplier warranty duration and recovery of charge-back
  • Ensure proper management of Reliability Growth, availability and other contractual commitments with respect to operations
  • Manage critical interface with Customer representatives (support Project Managers and Program Managers)
  • Ensure proper implementation and respect of Environment Health & Safety (EHS) and Railways Safety for all sites within ALM/Eng/PCRO network of sites
  • Ensure people recruitment and competency development according to needs of all relevant operations and CRO activities
  • Ensure proper Return of Experience to other functions (I.e. Engineering, Testing, Quality)
  • Ensure standard process deployment and adherence including audit/assessment performance (internal and external)
  • Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adherence to the highest standards of ethical conduct
  • Manage interface with Customer Directors, Project Directors, Service Director, and Head of operational functions such as Quality and Engineering
  • Accountable for operations, industrial and CRO Key Performance Indicator (KPI)'s deployment and proper reporting & analysis (finance, technical, cost & non-cost related, …)
  • Interfaces directly with Customer in coordination with Customer Director and Project Manager for high level reviews and crisis management on high-risk projects

  • Compliance with operations, industrial, and CRO organization model & processes
  • Audit results (internal and external)
  • Customer satisfaction survey result
  • Adequate competencies mobilized on time
  • Relevant IT Tools available on time
  • Operations, industrial, and CRO Tender QCD commitment in line with bid expectation
  • Supplier warranty performance and charge-back
  • Site, Country or Region Development For Quality GO on Time including Final Quality Approval (FQA)
  • Achievement of end of general contractual warranty on time
  • Achievement of contractual targets with respect to CRO
  • Adherence to operations and CRO Budget QCD

 

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field.

 

Desirable:

Master’s degree in engineering (mechanical or industrial is an asset)

 

Experience

Mandatory:

  • 20 years of industrial/operational/manufacturing experience in the railway industry of which at least 10 years of experience of large industrialization and components insourcing projects managing several sites simultaneously
  • Multi-Site Project Execution (technical/industrial) (>10 years)
  • Global and Team management
  • EHS knowledge/exposure
  • Railway Safety/Product liability
  • Product knowledge
  • Data analytics
