MISSION

Deploy “Urban” solution on a specific project : evolution of the Operational Control Center of Milano. The OCC operates the metro lines 1, 2 and 3, for the functions of Automatic Traffic Supervision (ATS), SCADA Traction, SCADA Auxiliaries (escalator, lift…) and Diagnostic.

The main tasks to perform by the System Engineer are:

• Operational scenarios analysis
• Design of the solution to cover the requisites expressed in the contract.
• Configuration of the subsystems (ATS, SCADA…)
• Integration of SW deliveries (developed on other Alstom sites)
• Support Test & Commissioning on-site activities 

The System Engineer also:

• Provides all the necessary support to the Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) for the technical answer to the needs expressed by the Solution Director and the specific user project needs.
• Develops system documents, specifications and other technical documents, apply the system engineering processes in order to ensure that the system technically fulfils the defined needs and enhancements (change requests) and that a proper system engineering approach is being followed.

• Builds (or adapts) the configuration of the subsystems (ATS, SCADA…), and integrates the software developed by others (Alstom, external). Applying the standard design methods & tools, configuration & change management processes in accordance to Alstom standards.

• Ensures technical consistency and alignment with Project Engineering teams throughout the development, providing technical support to V&V, and support to Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety analysis.
• Interacts with other Engineers to ensure that the design fits with the intended functions and architecture.
• Prepares and participates in Design Reviews.
• Writes the project Verification and Validation plan, co-ordinates and monitors project Verification, Integration and Test activities. He also supports Test & Commissioning on-site activities.

 REQUIREMENTS

• Engineering University Degree in Electronics, Civil Transportation, Automation, Electrics, Telecom or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills and work ethic
• Preferable knowledge of SCADA/ ATS subsystems

• Availability to travel to Milan (for client meetings or Tests on site)
